PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
DEDT 3242 is a single component anaerobic threadlocking material, which is thixotropic and develops
medium strength . The product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal
surfaces.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
*Prevents loosening and leakage of threaded fasteners.
*Pump and motor mounting bolts.
*Engine rocker nut
*Situations were disassembly with hand tools is required.
POLYMER PROPERTIES
Typical
Value Range
Chemical Type Dimethacrylate ester
Appearance Blue liquid
Specific Gravity 1.05
Viscosity(at 25°C)(mPa.s) 2000 1200 to 2800
Flash Point(TCC) °C >93
CURE SPEED VS. SUBSTRATE
The rate of cure will depend on substrates involved.
Substrate Fixture time/Full cure
Steel 15min/24hrs
Brass 20min/24hrs
Zn Dichromate 30min/24hrs
Stainless Steel 40min/24hrs
CURE SPEED VS. BOND GAP
The rate of cure will depend on the bondine gap. The bondlines result in high cure speeds, increasing the
bond gap will decrease the rate of cure.
CURE SPEED VS. ACTIVATOR
Where cure speed is unacceptably long due to large gaps, applying activator to the surface will improve
cure speed, But may also impair overall adhesive performance and therefore testing is recommended to
confirm effect.
CURE SPEED VS. TEMPERATURE
The rate of cure will depend on the ambient temperature. High temperature tend to increase the speed
TYPICAL PROPERTIES(CURE)

Prevailing Torque 8 4~11
GENERAL INFORMATION
This product is not recommended for use in pure oxygen rich systems and should not be selected as sealant
for chlorine or other strong oxidizing materials.
Where aqueous washing systems are used to clean the surfaces before bonding. It is important to check for
compatibility of the washing solution with the adhesive. In some case, these aqueous washes can affect the
cure and performance of the adhesive.
This product may not be compatible with plastics,(particularly thermoplastic materials where stress
cracking of plastic could result). Users are advised to confirm compatibility of the product with such
substrates.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
For best results, surfaces should be clean and free of grease. 3243 should be applied to the bolt in adequate
quantity to fill all engaged threads. 3243 performs best in thin bond gaps, (0.05mm). Very large thread sizes
may create large gaps which will affect cure speed and strength. This product is designed to give controlled
friction, (torque/tension ratio), during assembly. In cnitical tightening applications this ratio should be
confirmed.
PRODUCT STORAGE
Product should be stored in a cool, dry location in unopened containers at a temperature between containers
at a temperature between 46℉ (8℃)and 82℉ (28℃)unless otherwise stated. To prevent contamination of
unused product, do not return any material to its original container.
